Beginner Ballet
Ballet is the foundation of all great dancing. Every style — from contemporary to hip hop to acro — is elevated by a strong ballet base. At Fierce Academy, our Beginner Ballet class for ages 7 to 11 introduces dancers to classical technique in a structured, encouraging environment taught by instructors with professional performance experience.
This is where technique begins. Students learn proper alignment, turnout, and the five positions of the feet and arms. They develop musicality through barre work and center combinations. They learn what it means to carry themselves as a dancer — with posture, grace, and intention.
Class structure:
Each class begins at the barre with foundational exercises — pliés, tendus, dégagés, and développés — and moves to center work including balances, turns, jumps, and across-the-floor combinations. Students progress through skill levels at their own pace with instructor guidance.
What your dancer will develop:
Classical ballet technique and vocabulary. Posture, alignment, and body awareness. Musicality and rhythm. Coordination and spatial awareness. Discipline and focus that carries into every area of life.
What to wear:
Pink ballet tights, a leotard in any color, and an optional ballet skirt. Pink canvas or leather ballet slippers. Hair in a neat, secure bun. No loose jewelry.
