What ages do you accept?
We welcome dancers from 15 months all the way through adulthood. Our youngest programs — Twirling Twos and Mommy & Me — start at 15 months, and our adult classes are open to any age. There is truly a program for everyone at Fierce Academy of Dance.
Do I need prior experience to enroll?
Not at all. The majority of our classes are designed to welcome complete beginners while still challenging more experienced dancers. When you register, let us know your dancer’s experience level and we’ll help place them in the right class.
Are drop-in classes available?
Yes. Drop-in classes are available for adult programs and select offerings. Check our current schedule or contact us to confirm availability before dropping in.
What should my dancer wear to class?
Each class has its own dress code to support safe and effective training. Visit our Dress Code page for a complete breakdown by style. When in doubt, form-fitting comfortable activewear is a safe starting point.
How do I register my child?
Registration is handled through our secure online parent portal powered by JackRabbit. Click Enroll Now at the top of any page to get started. If you have questions give us a call at 201-983-7076 or email info@fiercedancenj.com.
Do you have a competitive company?
Yes. Our competition company is for dancers ready to train at a higher level and compete regionally and nationally. Placement is by audition. Email info@fiercedancenj.com for information about the upcoming audition season.
What makes Fierce Academy different from other studios?
Our teachers. Every instructor at Fierce Academy has real-world professional performance experience — Broadway, touring productions, backup dancing. They don’t just teach dance. They bring the stage into the classroom. That is the Fierce difference.
Do you use props in classes?
Yes — and we love it. Tiaras, ribbons, scarves, and costumes are used throughout our programs, especially with younger dancers. Props aren’t just fun — they build confidence, stage presence, and a love of performance from the very first class.
Do you offer private lessons?
es. Private one-on-one lessons are available with our faculty in all styles. They’re ideal for audition preparation, technique refinement, or dancers who want accelerated progress. Contact us to book a session.
Can I rent the studio for a private event?
bsolutely. Our studio is available for private rehearsals, photo and video shoots, audition preparation, and special events. We also offer choreography services for Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, Sweet 16 celebrations, and weddings. Use the inquiry form on our Studio Rental page or contact us directly.
Is there an in-studio shop?
Yes. Our in-studio shop carries Fierce Fashion branded apparel and a curated selection of dance accessories and toys for your little dancer. Open during regular studio hours.
Where are you located?
We are located at 25 Washington Street, Tenafly, NJ 07670, serving dancers throughout Bergen County and the surrounding communities. Free parking is available nearby.
What is your Twirling Twos program?
Twirling Twos is our signature toddler dance program starting at just 15 months old. Through music, movement, creative play, and props, little ones develop coordination, rhythm, and confidence in a warm and nurturing environment. It’s one of our most popular programs — and the smiles say it all.
Do you offer summer programs?
Yes. Fierce Academy runs a Summer Dance Camp — a full-week immersive experience for dancers of all levels. Campers explore multiple styles, train with our professional faculty, and finish the week with a showcase performance. Details and registration for the upcoming season will be posted on our Summer Camp page.
